Why this blog by Malcolm and Marie?

Welcome to our new blog…

Recently we decided it was time to communicate more through writing. For a number of years we have shared our thoughts and opinions mostly through our activist filmmaking. But the films take a long time to produce and we go through such an intense rich process to make them… we thought it would be worth sharing our thoughts and experiences along the way. So thanks to the new technologies here is a space where we will write about and comment local and world events and keep you up to date on our filmmaking and activist adventures. We hope it will also allow us to keep in touch with you and other friends and contacts we meet along the way.

We’ll write mostly in English (our first language) but also en français.

Just in case you want to know more (while we get our act together and build up the content on this blog) you can visit the web site of our film company at http://www.pmm.qc.ca and the blog of the Centre d’appui aux Philippines – Centre for Philippine Concerns, our solidarity group, at http://cap-cpc.blogspot.com, the International Migrants’ Alliance – Canada Chapter http://imacanada.blogspot.com, the International League of Peoples Struggle http://ilps-canada.typepad.com/ and the Immigrant Workers Centre http://www.iwc-cti.ca, different causes where we are active.

We look forward to seeing you back here soon. Take care. Padayon*…

Malcolm Guy & Marie Boti

* Padayon means continue or onwards in Sugbuanon, Waray, Cebuano and Ilonggo, different languages from the Philippines, a country where we have spent considerable time over the past 20 years.
